We Are Internet Friends
February 10, 2025
We want to start by saying thanks to Andy Chung, and the Read.cv team. In 2024 they had created Posts, a social platform for professionals and creatives. As of writing this, it's planned to be sunset in a few weeks. However, the inspiration and community that continues to live on from their work is something we wanted to acknowledge.
After connecting on Posts back in June 2024, we set out to build a 'lightweight social journaling app.' Over the following months this would evolve into what is now known as Moments. Below is the open graph image we launched with along with our original logo. Featuring the incredible artwork by my friend Camille Villanueva.

Why make another social app?
Social platforms are quite intriguing from a design and development perspective. You get to work with user generated content, challenge ux patterns from other social platforms, all while making sure things load instantly and stand the test of time.
From branding to privacy, everything needs to be built around trust and ease of use. With this in mind and a Notion board, we spent our free weekends and evenings slowly crafting the simplest experience we could. A platform free from likes, ads, and endless scrolling.
An empty backlog is the best backlog.

Back to Internet Friends. We teamed up because we're passionate about making cool things on the internet. Not just social apps. Consider Moments our proof of building. Or maybe, the power of friendship?
We think the most exciting part of single-purpose software is that it can reach a point that doesn't need any more adjustments, new features, or fancy rebrands. It simply lives on the web and does one thing really well.
We're currently working on new ideasĀ and look forward to launching them when they are ready. For regular updates you can follow us on Bluesky, our only company social account. If you have an idea or want to lend a hand feel free to reach out.
